Bulldogs win two of three over weekend

Harrisburg rebounded from a 10-5 loss at Murphysboro Friday to win a pair of games, beating Carmi-White County 12-2 and Hardin County 6-1 Saturday in a triple header at Harrisburg Park.

In the win over Hardin County, Sanders improved to 13-7 on the season with a complete game, seven-hitter. Sanders trick out two and allowed one run.

At the plate, Madeline Rider was 2-fo-3, cranking out her fifth home run of the season, while Karsyn Davis was 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in the fifth and finished with four RBI.

Mya King, Hannah Reid, Maddy Ladd and Sanders all had one hit.

Earlier in the day, the Bulldogs knocked off Carmi-White County in five innings.

Sanders got the win in the circle, allowing two runs on four hits with one strikeout.

Top hitters included, Rider, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, while Sanders was 1-for-3 with three RBI.

McKenzie Marshall, Gillian Jones, King and Ride all had one hit.

On Friday, Sanders cranked out a home run to tie the game at three with a third inning blast, but Murphysboro broke the game open over the next two innings to win 10-5.

Sanders took the loss, lasting five innings and giving up 10 runs (seven earned) on 14 hits with two strikeouts and two walks.

Ladd came on for one inning of relief work, giving up one hit. At the plate, Ladd was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Reid was 2-for-4. Sanders and Lexi Williams were both 1-for-3, while Davis was 1-for-4.

Herrin 6, Harrisburg 1

On Monday, Herrin handed Harrisburg a 6-1 loss.

The Bulldogs were held to two hits as Madeline Rider went 1-for-3, leading off the game with a home run. Lexi Williams was also 1-for-3.

Sanders took the loss in the circle as she allowed six runs (five earned) on 11 hits with one strikeout and one walk.
