Prep Hoops: Gallatin County kicks off season with win over Grayville

The Gallatin County High School boys kicked off their season in style with a 86-42 win over Grayville Monday night.

The Hawks (1-0) put three players in double figures, led by a game-high 26 points from Audie Goebel, while Robbie Prince wasn't far behind with 21 points. Aaron Walters rounded out the double-digit scoring with 12 points.

Four Gallatin County players finished with six points, including Garrett Rushing, Lucas Reeder, Dawson Hish and Connor Kiesecoms. Will Henson tacked on three points in the win.

On Wednesday, Gallatin County trailed early and rallied to tie the game at 31-all after three quarters of play, but were outscored 8-6 in the final eight minutes to lose 39-37 against Carmi Tuesday night.

Goebel poured in 14 points to lead the Hawks in scoring while Hish finished in double digits with 10 points.

Prince finished with five points, while Watlers and Rushing each finished with four points.

Gallatin County returns to action on Friday, December 1 at home against Eldorado.
