Baseball: Gallatin County grabs GEC win over Galatia

Gallatin County doubled up Galatia 8-4, earning a Greater Egyptian Conference win Tuesday.<br />Robbie Prince picked up the win for the Hawks, working five innings of relief work, striking out six and allowing one run.<br />Garrett Rushing went two innings, allowing one earned run, while walking three.<br />At the plate, Seth Ramsey Audie Goebel and Wyatt Downen each had a pair of hits as Ramsey drove in three runs and Downen finished with two RBI. Ramsey also scored three runs, while Downen plated two. <br />Clay Pritchard, Grant Bosaw and Robbie Prince both had one hit. Pritchard drove in two and scored two runs, while Bosaw scored one run. Lucas Hise was 0-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.<br />Gallatin County opened the game with a six-run first inning and plated two more runs in the seventh.<br />Gallatin County is scheduled to play at Pope County on Thursday and will host Eldorado at home on Friday.

<strong>Edwards County 11, Eldorado 1</strong><br />Eldorado made five errors on Tuesday, dropping a Black Diamond Conference matchup to Edwards County 11-1.<br />The Eagles were held to five hits on the day as Trey Vessel went 2-for-3. Joe Mayberry, Max Kasiar and Payton Price had the other three hits.<br />Bryson Sigler had an RBI for Eldorado, while Mayberry scored a run.<br />On the bump, Eldorado used a trio of arms as Kasiar took the loss, going 3.2 innings, giving up eight runs (four earned) on three hits, while striking out five and walking eight.<br />Braden Unthank worked 1.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits and Hunter Artman surrendered two runs on one hit.<br />Eldorado will travel to Edwards County on Thursday and will close out the week at Gallatin County Friday.
