Harrisburg girls track fares well at Marion Invite

The Harrisburg High School girls' track and field team took home five 1st place finishes, a trio of seconds and had a personal record in a triangular match with Marion and Herrin Tuesday at Marion High School.<br />Harrisburg junior Bryleigh Buchanan took two of the first place finishes, grabbing the top spot in the high jump, clearing 5-feet and then won the 200 meter dash with a time of 27 seconds.<br />Buchanan's classmate, Franchesca Laurencio had a first place finish in the 3200 meter dash with a time of 13:14, while Victoria Thai had a first place finish in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:01.03 and MaKayla McBrian had a toss of 31-feet-7 in the shot put for a first place finish. <br />Thai had a second place finish in the long jump, going 13-feet-9 and Hannah Finley had a heave of 30-feet-10 in the shot put for a second place finish and Laurencio turned in a time of 6:02.5 in the 1600 meter run for a personal best and a second place finish.<br />McBrian had a third place finish in the discuss with a toss of 72-feet-6 and Shaunah Ballard turned in a fourth place showing in the 200 meter dash with a time of 32.2.<br />Other times and performances included: Nicholle Shaw (100 dash, 17.2), Chloe Miller (100 dash, 17.5) Kyahna Boyles (800 meter, 2:43.6; long jump, 4-feet-8).
