Bulldogs win three over weeekend

For the second time in as many weeks, Harrisburg knocked off county foe Eldorado, this time 10-0, in a game originally scheduled for Eldorado, but was moved to Harrisburg because of weather.<br />Alli Ferrell moved to 4-3 on the year for Harrisburg, picking up the win in the circle, as she gave up a lead off single to Paige Munds and then settled in, throwing the shut out.<br />Ashlyn Sizemore took the loss for the Eagles, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on nine hits, while walking six and striking out one.<br />On Saturday, Harrisburg took a pair of games at home, beating Union County, Ky. 2-1 and then knocked off Pope County 12-2.<br />In the game against Union County, Harrisburg had just four hits on the day, but made the most of them as McKenzie Sullivan, Karsyn Davis, Lexi Williams and Gillian Jones each had a hit. <br />Madeline Rider was 0-for-2 but had an RBI as Sullivan and Jones both scored in the third inning for Harrisburg's two runs.<br />Ferrell (5-3) allowed one run on two hits.<br />Sullivan (2-0) picked up the win in the circle for Harrisburg in the 12-2 win over Pope County. The senior right hander that is headed to Lake Land College on a softball scholarship allowed one run on seven hits with three strikeouts.<br />Sullivan was 2-for-4 at the plate and was followed with a pair of hits, by Madeline Rider, Essence Sanders, Karsyn Davis, Alli Ferrell and Abby Dalton. Rider, Sanders, Davis and Dalton all had two RBI, while Ferrell finished with one run driven in.<br />Harrisburg is scheduled to play at West Frankfort today (Monday) at 4:30 p.m. and will play host to Massac County Tuesday. On Thursday, the Bulldogs are scheduled to host Benton and will play in a twin-bill Saturday at West Frankfort.
