Eldorado drops home opener to Lions

Ben Byrd and Bryson Sigler each went 2-for-3 at the plate as Eldorado dropped its home opener to Carterville 24-5 Wednesday afternoon.<br />The Eagles (0-1) had eight hits on the day as Max Kasiar, Kolton Oglesby, Jacob Traxler and Braden Unthank all had the other hits.<br />Kale Oglesby scored two runs for Eldorado, while Trey Vessel, Traxler and Sigler scored the other runs. Byrd, Kasiar and Vessel all had an RBI.<br />On the mound, Eldorado used four different pitchers on the afternoon as Hunter Artman, Ben Byrd, Joe Mayberry and Unthank combined for 16 hits, six strikeouts and seven walks on the day.<br />Mayberry suffered the loss, striking out a team-high four and walking five, giving up 10 runs on four hits.
