Prep Hoops: Wildcats roar to win over Gallatin County

After falling to Crab Orchard in the Greater Egyptian Conference title game Saturday, the Hawks took another step back in a 42-40 loss at Carrier Mills-Stonefort Tuesday night.

The Wildcats got a team-high 17 points from Justice Hill and was the lone CMSF player to score in double figures.

Will Gibbs added eight points for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, while Brody Walker scored seven points. Billy Lewis finished with five points, while Dylan Schwartz finished with four points.

Gallatin County got a game-high 20 points from Seth Ramsey and another 11 Trevor Duvall as both finished in double figures for the Hawks.

Audie Goebel had three points, while Robbie Prince, Aaron Walters and Luis Rubio all had two points.

Gallatin County led 11-9 after one quarter of play and took a 26-19 lead into the locker room. GCHS held a slim 35-32 lead going into the game’s final eight minutes where CMSF outscored the opposition 10-5 for the two-point win.
