Prep Bowling: Bulldogs roll way to win over A-J

The Harrisburg boys and girls' bowling team each earned wins over Anna-Jonesboro Wednesday at Ross Cottom Bowling Lane and the Bulldog boys won 2538-2456 and the girls were victorious 2668-1819.

Harrisburg freshmen Sebastian Barton led the Bulldogs with a 575, followed by Brendan Mitchell at 542. On the girls' side, Elizabeth Davis had a 627 and Claire McDermott chipped in with a 538.

The Harrisburg junior varsity boys' team got a 391 from Alex Barnett and Haley Ginn had the high game with a 125 for the girls.

"We started slow and finished strong," Harrisburg head coach Doug Cottom said. "Elizabeth really threw it good the last two games and Claire is playing nice and steady. Sebastian is just learning how to really play, but is coming along really well. I personally have really high hopes on both sides for these groups."

Harrisburg returns to action today (Friday) at S.I. Bowl in Carterville, taking on Marion and will host their own Bulldog Invitational on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.
