Prep Hoops: Eagles get off on right foot to start season

The Eldorado High School boys' basketball team got off on the right foot Monday night, picking up its first win of the season, knocking off Century 79-61 at the Vienna Classic.

Braden Attebury had a team-high 22 points and was joined in double figure scoring by Ethan Partridge's 20 points and Kale Oglesby's 12 points.

Jacob Traxler netted nine points and Ray May added eight points for the Eagles (1-0), while John Meredith scored six points and Max Kasiar finished with two points.

Partridge also helped Eldorado's cause with a 12-rebound performance and had five steals, while Oglesby had four steals and Attebury came away with eight rebounds.

Eldorado jumped out to a 28-16 lead after one quarter of play and led 48-41 at halftime. Eldorado led 62-52 at the end of the three periods, before winning by 18 points.

The Eagles return to action tonight (Tuesday) and will play Galatia at 7 p.m. Before that, Carrier Mills will play Cobden at 5:30 p.m.
