Prep Baseball: Hathaway, Woolcott make 1st Team; 4 Eagles in all named BDC All Conference

A pair of Eldorado baseball players earned First Team All Black Diamond Conference honors recently, while two others were named to Second Team and Honorable Mention.

Stanton Hathaway, who will be continuing his baseball career at nearby Frontier College in Fairfield was named to the First Team, but was also selected as the Captain of the BDC, joining Tyler Barbre of Carmi-White County, who took home MVP Honors.

Hathaway hit .486 for Eldorado, driving in a team-high 21 runs with 34 hits and scored 15 runs. Hathaway had a team-high two home runs with two triples, eight doubles and 22 singles.

Hathaway's teammate, Drew Woolcott, who will be playing baseball at Southeastern Illinois College this upcoming fall was also named to the First Team.

Woolcott led the Eagles with 20 runs scored and the outgoing senior had 24 hits, second on the team to Hathaway and batted .338 with seven RBIs. Woolcott finished with 15 singles, eight doubles and one triple.

On the mound, Woolcott was 3-4 in 11 starts for the Eagles, holding a 5.83 ERA. In 46.33 innings, Woolcott gave up 51 runs and 34 runs, while striking out 38 and walking 25.

Adam Ninness was named to the BDC Second Team and EHS junior Max Kasiar was selected Honorable Mention by the BDC.

Ninness hit .296 with 18 runs scored and 21 hits for Eldorado, including 12 RBIs. Kasiar had a .238 average, finishing with 18 RBIs, eight runs scored and had 15 hits on the year.
