Prep T&F: Eldorado holds its own at BDC

The Eldorado boy's track and field team held its own in the Black Diamond Conference meet Thursday.

Jacob Traxler was the top finisher for the Eagles placing third in the 400 meter dash, as the Eagles finished seventh overall with 21 points. Fairfield won the Black Diamond crown with 128 points.

"All the kids we entered did a great job competing and considering the circumstances we are very proud of these boys" said Eldorado assistant track coach Joe Clark.

Other honors include a fifth place finish by Tyler Gass in the shot put with a throw of 41-feet-2. The 4x800 relay team consisting of Jon Mitchell, Bret Plunkett, Alex Oker and Isiaha Barton finished fifth with a time of 9:57.23 and the 4x100 relay team of Payton Price, Brian Owens, Clayton Dennis and Alex Brown finished fifth with a time 49.26.

Price finished fourth in 200 with a time of 24.02 and sixth in 100 with a time of 11.9.

Mitchell finished fifth in the mile with a time of 5:18 and sixth in 800 with a time of 2:23.

Thhe 4x400 relay (Traxler, Oker, Dawson Metten and Barton finished sixth with a time 4:11.12.

The Eagles will next run at the sectional meet in Fairfield Friday to attempt to qualify a few individuals to the state meet in Charleston.
