Prep Softball: Boma, Rider lead Bulldogs to win

The Harrisburg softball team pounded out 14 hits in an 13-3 win over Anna-Jonesboro in six innings Monday.

Realign Boma went 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBI, hitting a home run and adding a double, while Madeline Rider went 3-for-4 with three RBI as well, finishing with a triple and two doubles.

Karsyn Davis went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Mckenzie Sullivan was 2-for-4 on the day.

Matty Hawkins improved to 14-8 on the year as she struck out six and allowed three runs on seven hits.

The win improves Harrisburg to 17-10, who has been hitting the ball well as of late.

That being the case, Bulldogs head coach Red Stafford did have his concerns coming into Monday's title.

"Coming off Prom weekend, I wasn't sure how the girls were going to respond or come out and play, but they played good defense for the most part and Matty pitched well. I'm just happy with the win and we have been hitting the ball much better the last few ballgames.
