BOYS GOLF: Brocaille advances, Panthers come within six strokes of 4th at Regional

Coming up just six strokes short of advancing to the Sectional tournament, the Pinckneyville boys golf team combined to shoot 368 at Tuesday's Okawville Regional held at Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course, good for fourth place overall of the thirteen teams entered.

Although the team fell shy of advancing, senior Kyle Brocaille fired a 79 to finish sixth overall as an individual. Brocaille will join nine other qualifying individuals as well as the top three teams from Tuesday's event: Nashville (301), Okawville (355) and Chester (362). Nashville's Jordan Harre took home the Medalist award with a phenomenal round of 66 to pace the field by five strokes.

Rounding out the Panthers' scores, Drew Lipe shot 93 and Jordan Grissom and Lee Wittenauer both finished with a score of 98 to make up Pinckneyville's four-man total. Grant Thompson also competed for PCHS, shooting 118. The Panthers finish their season 41-27 overall.

Brocaille competes in the Robinson Sectional on Monday, October 14th at Quail Creek Country Club.
