Runners and walkers signed up for a benefit run and walk under a tent as drizzle continued.
While the evening band entertainment did not happen, at 7 p.m. rain had stopped and the runners and walkers were off, walking and running.
Barring a heavy rain, intentions were to fire fireworks at dusk. While the walk and run were under way, food stands were ready to serve and cars and trucks were beginning to flow into the high school's Sports Complex., where fireworks were to be fired.
