The Home and Family Show is an exhibition of projects like cooking, interior design, cake and cookie decorating, candy-making, sewing and textiles and child care, to name a few.
Several 4-Hers brought their wares for judging at the Church of God on McHaney Road Thursday morning. One exhibit that took center stage, literally, was a theater arts presentation by Cassi Watkins, Alex Watkins and Taylor Boone. The short play, entitled "Twice Upon Reality," was written by Cassi Watkins and centers on the growing friendship between two very different girls.
"She wrote it all, I tweaked some things and stuff like that," Boone said.
There were also exhibits of cakes decorated to look like farms, volcanoes and spaghetti dinner.
The Dog and Cat Show was held at the Fairgrounds starting at 6 p.m. Dogs are put through their paces on an agility course and obedience to commands. Owners are also quizzed on pet care by judges.
Brandon Butler brought his beagle, Hunter, to the dog show. She's an actual working dog, who hunts rabbits in the winter. Hunter was all wags and enthusiasm in the agility ring.
