Obituary: Maurita J. Barger

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Maurita J. Barger, 55, Carrier Mills, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Marion.

She was born on June 7, 1956, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Mack and Merriel Dene Patton Pulliam, where her dad was stationed while serving his country. She was married on Aug. 18, 1983, to Gerald D. Barger and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2006.

Maurita was a cashier at Millstone Market in Carrier Mills and a Baptist by faith.

Maurita is survived by a daughter, Leslie Barger of Clarksville, Tenn.; son, Nathan Barger and his fiancee Tasha Wilson of Carrier Mills; her mother, Merriel Dene Pulliam of Carrier Mills; a sister, Debbie Clore and her friend John of Stonefort; a niece, Dana (Scott) Dooley of Harrisburg; and a nephew, Noel Clore of Carrier Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Barger; and her father, Mack Pulliam.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mils. The Rev. Staley Langham will officiate. Maurita requested that there be no visitation. Those attending the service should gather at the cemetery.

Memorials should be directed to the local 4-H organization in her memory.

Arrangements are under the care of Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
