Roy Kenneth Vaughn
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Roy Kenneth Vaughn, 89, of Eldorado, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Ferrell Hospital.
On Aug. 27, 1950, he married Betty Jean (Horn) Vaughn, who preceded him in death on Dec. 2, 2010.
Kenny was born in Eldorado on April 1, 1921, a son of the late Bessie (Southerland) and John Vaughn.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He also served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.
He worked as a letter carrier and postal clerk at the Eldorado Post Office from the mid-1960s until his retirement.
Kenny is survived by two sons Richard Vaughn of Harrisburg and Greg (Mary) Vaughn of Murphysboro; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Jewell Morgan of Pontiac, Bernada Chelton of Chicago and Geneva Allensworth.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar and Carl.
Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home at 11 a.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, with the Rev. Russell Helton officiating.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at the funeral home.
