</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Andrew "Andy" Birkner, 79, McLeansboro, died 11:03 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010, at McLeansboro Healthcare and Rehab Center.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at St. Clements Catholic Church in McLeansboro with Msgr. Joseph Lawler officiating. Burial will be in St. Clements Cemetery, McLeansboro. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Gholson Funeral Home, McLeansboro.

He was the widower of Alberta VanWinkle. He is survived by two sons, two daughters-in-law, one daughter, a son-in-law, 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
