Sallie Jo Small
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Sallie Jo Small, 76, of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at her daughter's residence in Harrisburg.
Sallie was born on October 23, 1934, in Carterville to the late Thomas Edgar and Verna (Clark) Stinson. She married John Richard "J.R." Small on February 14, 1956, and he preceded her in death on August 14, 1995.
Sallie was a bookkeeper for First National Bank and she attended the First Presbyterian Church of Harrisburg.
Sallie is survived by two sons, Clark Small of Harrisburg and John C. "Jay" Small and wife Karen of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Laurie Pappenfuss and husband Don of Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren, Joshua Lewis, Lincoln Lewis, Jonathon Lewis, Daniel Small, Rachel Small, Tyler Small, Ryan Pappenfuss, Marissa Small, Anna Small, Keisha Small and Sallie Small; four great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Maria Hazlett and Charleen Lewis-Soper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband "J.R." and one son, Michael Small.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Judith Beyler will officiate; burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
