Diana Jean Rich

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Diana Jean Rich, nee Cox, 70, of Shiloh, formerly of Fairview Heights, born Sept. 4, 1940 in Harrisburg, died on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Diana worked as an accountant for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and other federal agencies for a total of 20 years in St. Louis, Mo. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Diana loved knitting, pottery, crafts and gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her childhood country home and was a devoted wife, loving mother and a doting grandmother. She followed current events and was a scouting volunteer and supporter. She was patient, caring, kind; Diana was genuine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Edna, nee Mullins, Cox; and a brother, Delmar Cox.

She was a devoted wife of 53 years to her husband, Jerry E. Rich; she is also survived by a son, E. Scott Rich of Fairview Heights; a daughter, Julie Rich Carson of Shiloh; a grandson, Ethan G. Carson; her sisters-in-law, Nancy Cox of Midland, Texas and Nita Rich of Indianapolis, Ind.; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Rich of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Tom Matthews of Seattle, Wash.

Friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights. Graveside services were held at 10:15 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
