</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Phyllis Jean Daniels, 65, Carrier Mills, died 12:40 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, at the Calvin Johnson Nursing Home, Belleville.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Lakeview Cemetery near Carrier Mills with the Rev. Claretta Williams officiating. There will be no visitation; all friends should go directly to the cemetery. Arrangements are in the charge of Felty Funeral Home, Carrier Mills.

She was born on Aug. 18, 1945, in Romelus, Mich., to the late Jacob Robert and Mable (Bell) Burton.

She was a member of the Carrier Mills Baber Chapel A.M.E. Church.

She was active in the community before her illness; she was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. She gave good advice to the younger children and made sure that everyone knew she was a part of the Lakeview community.

She is survived by a son, Robert Cowper Jr. of Carrier Mills; a grandchild, Dylan Keller of Carrier Mills; five sisters, Jeanette Garner of Fulton, Tenn., Glenda Smallwood of Golconda, Martha Millikan of Carrier Mills, Sheila (Clyde) Hunt of Stonefort and Becky McHughes of Clarksville, Tenn.; three brothers, John Burton of Crab Orchard and Robert Burton and Mark Burton, both of Brookport; and several nieces and nephews, with special mention to Jeanie Craig.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy L. Dean; sister, Clara Mae Burton; and brother, Charles Burton.
