Marie Elizabeth Kirkman Elliott
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Marie Elizabeth Kirkman Elliott, 77, of Galatia, passed away at 6:41 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Marie was born in Saulsbury, N.C., on July 9, 1933, a daughter of the late Florence (Tevepaugh) and Edward L Kirkman.
She was a homemaker.
She was the wife of Tommy Elliott, who survives. She and her husband were united in marriage in the 1950s.
Marie is survived by two daughters, Diana (Bill) Richardson of Harrisburg and Kay (Bill) Moore of North Carolina; four sons, Wayne Hendrix of North Carolina, Ronnie (Rita) Elliott of Harrisburg, Jerry Elliott of Centralia and Mike (Janey) Elliott of Eldorado; a stepson, Robert Elliott of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Flora Lambirth, Stella Rowland, Mary Lowder, Dorothy Seamon and Ethel Crow, all of North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Snyder; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday in Saulsbury, N.C. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
