Robert Wayne 'Grumpy' Parks

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert Wayne "Grumpy" Parks, 84, of Eldorado, passed away at 12:51 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Wayne was born in Golconda on June 17, 1926, a son of the late Reba Margaret (Keef) Farris and Hansel Farris.

He attended Christian Life Fellowship Church in Harrisburg. Prior to retirement he worked as a coal miner at Eagle No. 2.

He was married to Dorothy June "Sue" (Clark) Parks who preceded him in death in 2006.

Wayne is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Steve) Miller of Washington, Ind.; a son, Gary (Karen) Parks of Eldorado; two sisters, Mary (Bob) Boyle of Chandlerville and Doris (Charles) Metcalf of Harrisburg; a brother, Hillis (Kathie) Farris of Hazel, Ky.; grandchildren, Sherry (Ryan) Kristof of Alpena, Mich., Kristin Parks, Nashville, Tenn., and Tyler Parks of Eldorado; three great-grandchildren, Christian Borum of Eldorado, Marcia Kristof of Alpena, Mich., and Braden Riley of Florida; and a great-great-grandson, Malaki Riley of Florida.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Borum.

Funeral service will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, with Marshall Glover officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2011, at the funeral home.
