Betty Rose Crawford

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Betty Rose Crawford, 85, of Columbia, Tenn., formerly of Ledford, died Monday May 23, 2011, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at Ledford Cemetery. There will be no visitation; all friends should go directly to the cemetery. The Rev. Harl Cockrum will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Kids Fighting AIDS Organization, 317 W. Eighth St., Columbia, Tenn. 38401. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Aug. 27, 1925, in West Frankfort to the late John and Gertrude (Batters) Smith.

She married Alton Tommy Crawford on Aug. 8, 1945 and he preceded in death on Jan. 15, 1992.

She was a homemaker and attended St. Peter&#39;s Episcopal Church in Columbia, Tenn. She traveled with her son and daughter-in-law as they worked with the Kids Fighting AIDS organization.

She is survived by a son, Richard (Barbara) Crawford of Columbia, Tenn.; grandchildren, Harold (Mary) Crawford of St. Louis, Mo., Kimberly (Randy) Harvel of Lone Oak, Ark., Angela (Jeff) Thomas of Wilmington, Valerie (Dan) Knight of LaFarge, Wis., Richard Crawford Jr., Victoria Crawford, Leticia Crawford, Erica Crawford and Steven Crawford, all of Columbia, Tenn.; a special friend, Tracy Staggs; 13 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Shaffin Crawford and Robert Crawford.
