Constance E. 'Connie' Harrawood

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Constance E. "Connie" Harrawood, 80, of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:54 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

She was born on July 27, 1930, in Brownfield in Pope County to the late Ray and Marie (Broadway) Meler. On Sept. 11, 1952, she married Robert "Bob" Harrawood and he preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2007. She was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church.

Connie was a maker of the home; a skilled seamstress, a master chef, a baker, a gardener and a quilter. She loved to can all the vegetables from the harvest. She was a care taker of all animals that lived with her or around her. She always made sure the animals were taken care of. She was a talented artist and painter as well as an avid reader. Connie loved to do word puzzles and watch sports on TV. She was knowledgeable about world events and enjoyed reading the newspaper every night. Above all, she was a devoted wife, a caring mother, a loving grandmother and a proud great-grandmother. She was a Godly woman who lived for the Lord.

Surviving family members include her son, Harold "Poncho" Harrawood and wife Linda of Harrisburg; son, Steven Harrawood and wife Lisa of Harrisburg; daughter, Brenda Winter and husband Paul of Harrisburg; daughter, Beth Anderton and husband Dennis of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Mindy Thomas and husband Brandon of Martin, Tenn., Adam Harrawood and wife Brook of Harrisburg, Jill Anna Harrawood of Peaster, Texas, Trista Palmer and husband Jacob of Harrisburg, Tracey Winter of Harrisburg and Skylar Anderton of Harrisburg; and six great-grandchildren, Tanner and Madelynn Thomas of Martin, Tenn., Autumn Rain Harrawood of Harrisburg, Doc Takoda Harrawood of Harrisburg and Rylan and Addyson Palmer of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiated. Burial followed in Lindale Memorial Gardens in Eldorado.
