Ruth Anderson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ruth Anderson, 81, of rural Eldorado, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at Finnie Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Galatia.

She was a bookkeeper for many years at W. J. Meyers Elevator, Eldorado Automotive, and Raleigh Redimix.

She was born Feb. 23, 1929, to Norval and Ethel (Barnett) Bean near Eldorado and was a lifelong resident of the area. In January 1948, Ruth married Fred Anderson. who passed away in 2004.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rhine Cemetery following the services. The Rev. David Pinkerton will officiate.

Survivors include a daughter, Vernia and husband Rick Moore of Broughton; two sons, Dwain Anderson and wife Becky of Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Carl Anderson of Broughton; several grandchildren, Christi (Sean) Riggs, Marci (Roger) Allen, Kim, Sara, and Mark (Amanda) Anderson, Rachel (Steve) Paul, and Ross Moore; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Kenley Riggs, Elias Birchett and Alex Paul; two sisters, Grace Mathias of Houston, Texas and Stella Anderson of rural Eldorado; a brother-in-law, Herb Miller of Junction; and two sisters-in-law, Mary and Arlene Bean of Eldorado and Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Delman and Ralph Bean; and three sisters, Romayne Jones, LaVerne Ego, and Joyce Miller.

Ruth attended Raleigh Baptist Church.

She was an avid bowler and was very active until she suffered a debilitating stroke about two months ago while visiting her sister in Houston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rhine Cemetery and will be accepted at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.
