Molly Frances Cook of Eldorado

Molly Frances Cook, 91, of Eldorado, passed away Sept. 8, 2019 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Molly was born near Equality on March 17, 1928 to the late Halton and Mary Margaret (Barnett) Mitchell. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Eldorado.

For the last four years, she was an active member of the Ladies Christian Fellowship Sunday school class at Lone Oak First Baptist Church of Paducah, Kentucky.

Molly graduated as salutatorian of her graduating class at Equality High School in Equality. She worked as a secretary to the superintendent of the Eldorado Unit 4 school system. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Meyer Grain Co.

She was married to Malcolm Gene Cook and he preceded her in death in December 2010.

Molly is survived by her son, Dr. Kenneth Gene (Darlene) Cook of Paducah, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Kara Cook of Louisville, Heather (Ben) Sparks of Louisville, and Dr. Ross (Dr. Nicole) Cook of Pinehurst, North Carolina; two brothers, Carl (Linda) Mitchell of Surprise, Arizona and Joe (Kathy) Mitchell of Ballwin, Missouri; one sister, Peggy (Alan) Jurgensen of Elgin; a sister-in-law, Betty Mitchell of Eldorado; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Gerald Frank Mitchell of Eldorado and Fred Mitchell of Texas; and one sister, Cora Nell Raymer of Michigan.

Funeral services for Molly Cook will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Burial will be at Lindale Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials in Molly's name be made to the First Baptist Church of Eldorado or Lone Oak First Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky.
