James Garland Kerr of Harrisburg

HARRISBURG - James Garland Kerr, 75, passed away at 4:09 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.

He was born May 22, 1942, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to James Marshall and Echoe Onita (Mowery) Kerr. On Dec. 26, 2009, he married Bonnie Turner, and she survives.

James was a real estate agent and member of Stonefort General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Turner of Harrisburg; son, Rocky (Vanessa) Kerr of Iron Mountain, Wisconsin; daughter, Tammy (Larry) Steele of Bald Knob, Arkansas; daughter, Jessica (Curtis) Green of Harrisburg; stepson, Mark (Tina) Turner of Effingham; stepdaughter, Kimberly Oliver of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William Gerrie Kerr.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, in Stonefort General Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, north of Galatia. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stonefort General Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
