Shirley Ann (DeWitt) Conder of Tamaroa

Shirley Ann (DeWitt) Conder, 78, of Tamaroa went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ that she loved since she was 3 years of age at 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, at her home.<br />Shirley was born Dec. 18, 1938, on Hortance Street in the upstairs of the J.W. Ward house in Murphysboro, which was the grandmother of J.W. Ward who was also her Godmother and she never missed one of Shirley's birthdays until she passed away. Shirley was raised by her grandparents, Tom and Stella DeWitt, and she was united in marriage to Rollie Conder Jr. March 5, 1956. He survives. <br />During her lifetime, Shirley worked at the Jackson County Abstract office, the Luster Factory in&#160; Murphysboro, the University of Illinois Extension Service in Murphysboro, the WIC department at the Jackson County Health Department, as an EMT and as a volunteer for hospice for four years. She was a member of the Red Hatters, enjoyed playing train dominoes and nine-hole card games with her friends and family, and loved being around water, enjoying the sunsets, seeing the light shining on the water and seeing their sparkles. She called the sparkles her diamonds. <br />Survivors include her husband, Rollie Conder Jr. of Tamaroa; two sons, Steve Conder of Du Quoin and David (Jackie) Conder of Carterville; one daughter, Mary Ann Williams of Du Quoin; two brothers, Walter and Doug; 10 grandchildren, Cheri (Paul) West, Danielle Huff, April (Dan) Snow, Ted Hood, Jonathan (Brandi) Williams, David (Alyssa) Conder II, Jacob (Ashlee) Conder, Matthew Williams, Jayden Conder and Ryanna Conder; and 16 great-grandchildren, Addy, Caidan, Bailey, Madison, Makayla,&#160; Angelynn, Anni, Zachary, Isabella, Aynsleigh, Olivia, Madelynn, Jon Weslee, Auna, Lailynn and Hazel.<br />She was preceded in death by her grandparents, the Musnicks and Tom and Stella DeWitt; one uncle, Edward (Adelaine) DeWitt; and one aunt, Cillian Popour.<br />A celebration of life gathering will be held at at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Pyatt Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Kevin Akers officiating.
