Obituary: Charles L. Hardy Sr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Charles L. Hardy Sr., 74, formerly of Murphysboro, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

He was born in Rattle on June 20, 1937, to the late Willie and Beatrice Patton Hardy.

He is survived by his longtime companion and fiancee, Diannia Ladon; three daughters, Linda Poninski (Paul) of Walnut Hill, Nancy Brinkley of Equality and Susan Jones (Bart) of Ava; one son, Charles Hardy Jr. (Nicole) of Equality; one stepdaughter, Tammy Pruitt (Robert) of Morganfield, Ky.; one brother, James Hardy (Peggy) of St. Charles, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Panzie Hardy of Valdosta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; five cousins, Imogene, Carol and Cindy of Murphysboro and Patsy and Pauline of Granite City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister-in-law.

He will be greatly missed.

There will be a memorial service held at the city hall in Goram from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012. All friends and loved ones are welcome to attend and say their final goodbyes.
