Obituary: Frankie L. Vineyard

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Frankie L. Vineyard, 80, of 429 N. Thompson St., Carrier Mills, IL died at 9:29 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with military rites by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the National Guard Ritual Team. The Rev. Bob Colburn and the Rev. Darrell Simon will officiate. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. He was born on May 19, 1931, in Carrier Mills to the late Alfred and Ina (Nunn) Vineyard.

He married the former Eva Charlene Riggs on Aug. 18, 1956, in Flint, Mich.

He was a member of the Harrisburg Church of Christ.

He was a General Motors retiree, working in many departments during his career.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam War as well as being in the reserves for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Charlene Vineyard of Carrier Mills; two daughters, Deb (Roy) Pruitt of Flint, Mich. and Diane (Joe) Gatton of Lapeer, Mich.; son, Keith (Terra) Vineyard of Harrisburg; several grandchildren, Amanda and Becky Pruitt, Nathan, Heather and Noah Gatton, Colton and Haley Vineyard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert L. "Pete" Pyle; and three sisters, Maxine Smith, Margaret Ziy and Freda Gentry.
