Obituary: Maxine Yates

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Maxine Yates, 81, of Golconda, passed away Jan. 31, 2012, at Hardin County Hospital in Rosiclare.

She was born to the late Charles Logan Duncan and Alice Myrtle Conley in Pope County on March 15, 1930.

Maxine is survived by one son, Kenneth Duncan of Golconda; two daughters, Diana and husband Raymond Barger of Delwood and Debbie Shell of Golconda; two brothers, Everett Duncan of Metropolis and Charles Duncan of Herod; one sister, Elma Wengert of Golconda; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also raised four additional children, Mike Yates, Dwana Yates, Zanada Yates and Carolyn Yates.

Maxine was preceded in death by one son, Roger Duncan; one great grandson, Justin Adkins; two sisters, Juanita Yates, Kathleen Vignola; five brothers, David Duncan, John Duncan, Jim Duncan, Frank Duncan, Lincoln Duncan.

Maxine was a member of River of Life Church in Delwood and attended Social Brethren in Golconda for many years. She was a Christian woman and raised eight children and many looked to her for advice. She also had worked for Chore housekeeping and was a cook at Pope County Care Center in Golconda.

Aly Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A private service will be held at a later date.
