Present and former art students of Zettie Shults are hoping for a good crowd to view their works at a show and reception 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Eldorado Memorial Library.

The works of art are currently on display in the library's conference room.

The pieces are varied, from a portrait of John Lennon by former student Brenda Whitler to a 3-dimensional depiction of a zoo where turtles take the ticket money by Noah Miller, 7.

His brother Blake, 9, constructed a baseball diamond complete with a baseball being hit out of the park.

There is stained glass art, an impressionistic painting of the Eiffel Tower by Shults' granddaughter, Brooke Shults and scribble art.

"We draw these lines on a page and turn the page until we see something. Then they add to it to get others to see what they see," Shults said.

Shults' art instruction is out of her home in downtown Eldorado and she is accepting students. She instructs in two sessions, one at 10:30 a.m. and one at 3:30 p.m. and can schedule other instruction times. The classes are open to all ages.

Anyone interested in joining the classes may call Shults at 841-8657.
