Air conditioner malfunction brings firefighters

Harrisburg firefighters responded to a smoke scare caused by a malfunctioning central air conditioning unit early this morning.

At 1:41 a.m. firefighters responded to 117 E. Big Four St., the home of Marilyn Waite, according to a fire report.

Waite had reported a strong smell of electrical smoke in the house.

Firefighters determined the unit had malfunctioned and burned up the electrical control panel in the unit, according to the report.
