Olney Police Chief Rick Chaplin said Sheila Merriweather, 53, 600 block of W. North Ave., Olney, was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery. Chaplin said Merriweather was out on bond from an assault charge approximately three weeks ago.

The incident was reported at 5:13 a.m. The victims were Merriweather's son, Ronald Merriweather, 34, same address, and Sara Engles, 25, Olney.

Sheila Merriweather, also injured, was transported from the residence to Richland Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released before she was arrested.

Engles, although injured, refused treatment.

Chaplin said Ronald Merriweather walked to the police department from the scene of the incident. He refused assistance there and walked to the hospital, where he was treated and released. The blood in front of the police department entrance was hosed off. A blood trail led north on Whittle Avenue.

Chaplin said the injuries were the result of a domestic dispute. None of the injuries were life-threatening, he said.

He would not comment on the weapon or whether it was found at the scene.
