Police investigate shooting incident at Rainbow campground
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Police are investigating a shooting at the Rainbow Gathering campground near Palestine Church in rural Saline County.
The shooting took place Saturday. The male victim was taken by private vehicle to Harrisburg Medical Center, then by aircraft to a hospital in St. Louis.
The name of the male victim and his condition were not yet known at press time.
The Illinois State Police is the lead agency in the investigation, according to Sheriff Keith Brown. Officers from the Saline County Sheriff's Department and the Harrisburg and Carrier Mills police departments assisted at the scene.
