ISP announces extra patrols for September
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Illinois State Police District 19 in Carmi will conduct extra patrols for next month involving Saline and other area counties.
Captain Richard Kinter has announced a Roadside Safety Check in Saline County Sept. 4.
Troopers will be targeting drivers operating unsafe vehicles, driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, transporting open alcoholic beverages or driving under the influence, according to a release from the ISP.
The ISP will also conduct a Roadside Safety Check Sept. 3 in Wayne County.
At some point during September the ISP will conduct and Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement. The project allows troopers to target an area with a saturation patrol focusing on impaired drivers, those illegally transporting alcohol and consumption of alcohol and other drugs, according to a release from ISP.
Also during September troopers will conduct a night time Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrol allowing saturation patrols within a targeted area. Troopers will be focused on people not wearing seat belt or using child restraint systems, according to a release from ISP.
