Laundry room fire extinguished

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Harrisburg firefighters extinguished a burning laundry room in a house at 130 W. Ogara St. Thursday night.

Firefighters arrived 10:53 p.m. to find smoke exiting the roof and upon entering found the dryer and laundry room on fire, according to the fire report.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and removed smoke. Only the laundry room received damage.

Michael Harper lives in the home and it is owned by Mark Harper, according to the report.

Michael Harper awoke to smoke and left the home, according to the report.

A dog and constrictor type of snake were in the house and were saved, firefighters said.

Firefighters left the scene at 11:35 p.m.
