Saline County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the theft of copper and electrical wire from Wild Things on state Route 13, a building previously burglarized of wares since its destruction by the spring flooding.

Deputy Danny Dooley spoke to Chastity Long who observed the building had been stripped of anything that could be sold for scrap, according to a sheriff's report.

Dooley made contact with the business owner in Florida.

The business is one of numerous businesses and homes that have been hit by copper wire thieves since the flooding.

On Sept. 9 Vernon Potter reported copper wire stripped from the fuse box and attic of his flood-damaged home at 2035 Ingram Hill Road, according to a sheriff's report.

An estimated $1,000 worth of wire was taken.

Potter's mailbox in the shape of a bass also was stolen between Sept. 5 and Sept. 7, according to the report.
