Ferrell Hospital supervisor honored for supporting employees serving in National Guard and Reserves

ELDORADO - Ferrell Hospital Supervisor Renata Lowery received a U.S. Department of Defense Patriot Award Monday honoring her for her service.

Julie Campbell and Jason Powell, volunteers with the Illinois Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, presented the award in recognition of Lowery's extraordinary support of her employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve.

Lowery was nominated for being highly supportive of the National Guard by her Reserve Component employee, Army National Guardsman Sgt. James Scott.

"Administration has been very supportive during the transition process," Scott said.

He also said co-workers as well as administrators frequently offer help and understanding to him, his spouse and family.

"I am surprised and honored to be awarded the Patriot Award," Lowery said.

ESGR created the Patriot Award to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to employees answering the nation's call to serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

According to ESGR, supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation's National Guard and Reserve units.
