Making their mark: Officials, medical staff sign beam at Ferrell Hospital

ELDORADO - Ferrell Hospital officials, employees and members of the community gathered Wednesday afternoon to leave their mark on local history at a construction update for the hospital.

Speaking at the west side of the hospital's 33,000 square-foot expansion site, CEO Alisa Coleman thanked the community for their support of the project.

After a prayer from Ferrell Hospital Board President Gene Morris, Dr. Nate Oldham also told the crowd of about 80 that he and the rest of the hospital staff are looking forward to the advances in health care the massive expansion and renovation project will bring to the Eldorado community.

Coleman told the crowd they would have the opportunity to sign the main steel construction beam, which will hang overhead at the main entrance of the expansion site once construction is complete. Members of the community may add their signature to the beam during normal business hours through Sept. 4. On Sept. 5, the hospital will feature a beam-raising event, signifying the main beam being put into place.
