Harrisburg High School announces homecoming schedule

HARRISBURG - The Harrisburg High School Student Council announce the schedule of activities for the 2019 Homecoming Weekend, Sept. 19-21.

The following events have been coordinated to accommodate the annual festivities.

Thursday, Sept. 19

The Student Council invites everyone to the Homecoming Parade to begin at 3 p.m. The theme for this year is "The Greatest Show," a theme that centers around the wonderment and excitement of the circus. Please design your floats with the circus in mind. The parade will begin at East Side School and end at West Side School.

Anyone interested in entering the parade must contact Student Council adviser Krystal Wilson at the high school by email (krystalwilson@harrisburg3.org). Please do this before Friday Sept. 12. You may also visit the parade Facebook page and register there.

No political entries please. No bicyclists are allowed in the parade. Those who ride horses are asked not to ride up and down the parade route prior to the beginning of the parade.

In the interest of safety and in accordance with city of Harrisburg policy, no items of any kind may be thrown from parade vehicles. Those wishing to give items from a parade vehicle should have someone walk along the vehicle and hand the items out to observers.

At halftime of the football game, the 2019 Homecoming Queen will be announced.

Saturday, Sept. 21

The homecoming dance will be held at the Harrisburg High School from 8 to 11 p.m.

The coronation will begin at 8:30 p.m. and the public is welcome to attend (the coronation only).
