CMSF High School attends Illinois State FFA Convention

SPRINGFIELD - Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School FFA attended the 91st Annual Illinois State FFA Convention from June 11-13 in Springfield.

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education.

Darin DeNeal, CMSF High School agriculture teacher and FFA sponsor, along with seniors Riley Harper, Kyle Bristow, Laura Talandis and sophomore Cydney Maxfield joined around 5,500 other FFA members from across the state. Over the course of the three days, the students participated in Delegate sessions, a Black Gold Cattle Co. tour, general sessions, several workshops, and a tour of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.

DeNeal said, "We sent our two delegates, Kyle Bristow and Laura Talandis, to the delegate sessions to vote on important items," and "we also attended the trade show where our students had the opportunity to speak with numerous colleges."
