Just for adults

• Summer Crafts and Cards: Stop in anytime between 1-3 p.m. or at 7 p.m. Free, all supplies provided, and no special skills required.

• InstantPot (pressure cooker) Basics: 6:30 p.m., June 24. Presented by Marla Rockwell and the library staff. Limited space available. Free, but must register in advance.

Special library services

• eLibrary Help: Check the calendar for availability or call to schedule an appointment. Chester Public Library patrons have access to thousands of free eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines.

• Book A Librarian: If you need help with research, using a computer, a cellphone, word processing or using the library's online card catalog, etc., set up an appointment.

• Illinois Department of Employment Security Veterans' Job Services: 10 a.m.-noon on June 13.

• 2020 Census Job Application Help: Want to apply for a job with the U.S. Census? Come for help from 1-3 p.m. on June 21.

Summer Wednesday programs

Sammy J Balloon Variety Show: 1 p.m. June 12, sponsored by Judge Bill & Evelyn Schuwerk. After the show, stay for Sammy J's balloon sculptures for you to take home; and stay to visit with Memorial Hospital representatives who will have sun safety tips and information about the hospital's online portal.

Chef Banana's Show: 1 p.m. June 19, sponsored by the Chester Rotary Club.

Glen Miller's All New Comedy Magic Show: 1 p.m. June 26, sponsored by Judge Bill & Evelyn Schuwerk.

Talent Showcase: 6:30 p.m. June 27. We are looking for a few more acts for the show. Have a talent you want to share? Contact Tammy or Lisa at the library.

For kids

• LapSit Storytime: For children up to age 5 with an adult partner, 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday.

• STEM Lab: Hands-on STEM activities for kids entering 3rd -- 7th grades, 1-4 p.m. on June 18. Includes Memorial Hospital's "Glow Germ", string slim instaworms, Bristlebots, and more. Free, but must register.

• Creative Kids Arts & Crafts: For elementary school-age children, 4:30 p.m. on June 20. Registration required.

• Lego Fun: 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on June 25.
