ISP announces results of Saline, Gallatin patrols

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - Illinois State Police District 19 Commander Capt. Cory Ristvedt announced the results of a night Special Traffic Enforcement Patrol conducted in Saline and Gallatin Counties during the evening hours of Nov. 23, and early morning hours of Nov. 24.

This Night sTEP Patrol allowed ISP to provide increased enforcement for impaired driving, occupant restraint, speeding, and distracted driving violations during the National "Click It or Ticket" Campaign.

Violations Enforcement Activity included one occupant restraint violation, 0 driving under the influence and drug/alcohol-related citations, 22 speeding citations and warnings, 0 distracted driving citations and warnings and total citations plus 33 total written warnings.

Driving the posted speed limit, sober, not distracted, and buckled up will save your life and the lives of many others. This project is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
