CYPRESS -- The Lower Cache River Access isn't just a spot to launch a canoe or kayak.

Join Kimberly Rohling, Cache River State Natural Area's conservation education representative, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, for a summer swamp hike identifying plants, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife active in Buttonland Swamp.

The guided hike will begin at the Lower Cache River Access parking lot. Afterward, an optional 20-minute guided hike to the state champion bald cypress tree will be available. Bring a pair of binoculars to get a closer look at wildlife. If you don't have a pair, register to borrow binoculars to make for a more enjoyable hike.

For information or to register, call the Wetlands Center at (618) 657-2064.
