Harrisburg Student of the Week - Jess Martin

Jess Martin, a senior, is Harrisburg High School Student of the Week. Principal Scott Dewar nominated her for this honor.

"Jess is an exceptional student academically and socially," Dewar said. "She is considered a leader and well-respected around the high school by students and faculty. She has been a pleasure to have as a student at the high school."

The best part about high school this year, Martin said, is cheerleading. She is most passionate right now about the opportunities ahead of her.

Martin's plans include attending SIC and majoring in psychology, and then transferring to a four-year university.

In 10 years, Martin said she can see herself "being a cheer coach with a stable job and a family."

And, if the story of her life were ever filmed, Martin said she would want Jennifer Lawrence to play her.
