Four charged in Harrisburg home invasion

HARRISBURG - Harrisburg police have arrested four people in connection with a home invasion Tuesday night, in which a Harrisburg man said he was beaten, tied up and robbed.

At about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, Harrisburg officers were called to the 300 block of South Main Street, where a man told them that three black males wearing hoodies, masks and gloves and armed with handguns had entered his home.

The victim said he was bound, gagged, beaten with a weapon and had personal items demanded from him.

He was taken to Harrisburg Medical Center for treatment.

While investigating, officers obtained information that led them to a nearby residence. They found the victim's stolen property and other alleged stolen items and weapons.

Officers arrested Breshod Everhart, 20, of Morganfield, Ky., Brelyn Everhart, 25, of Morganfield, Byron Hughes, 28, of Henderson, Ky., and a 17-year-old juvenile wanted on a parole warrant.

The men were charged with home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated battery, possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of a defaced firearm and theft over $500.

Harrisburg police were assisted by the Saline County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit and Eldorado Police Department.
