DAR recognizes Harrisburg's first responders
The National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution designated Oct. 11 as National Day of Service. That was the date of the founding of the organization.
The Michael Hillegas Chapter chose to honor first responders in Harrisburg.
DAR members got up early to deliver doughnuts to the Saline County Sheriff's Department, Harrisburg Police Department and Harrisburg Fire Department to thank them for protecting the citizens of Saline County.
