<div>CARRIER MILLS -- The Class of 2017 heard messages of inspiration mixed with a little humor as the Carrier Mills-Stonefort School District celebrated graduation Tuesday evening in the high school gym.</div>

<div>After Superintendent and high school Principal Bryce Jerrell welcomed the crowd, senior Kyli Jaye Grathler offered opening remarks. Senior choir members then sang "You Are My Shelter," accompanied by retiring music and history teacher Daryl Varble. Fellow retiring industrial technology teacher Randy Boyd was recognized along with Varble.</div>

<div>Class President Justice David Hill gave his address to his classmates, followed by salutatorian Brody Aaron Walker's remarks.</div>

<div>Valedictorian Chloe Nicole Brandon then gave her address.</div>

<div>Jerrell and board President Scott Figg then handed diplomas to the graduates before the class celebrated by the traditional tossing of mortarboards, with some "silly string" thrown in.</div>
